Vital Tips for Quick Recovery from Brazilian Butt Lift

People, especially women, like to have a perfectly shaped body and that includes their butt, too. To achieve their ideal butt shape, women try everything from running and dancing, to squats and lunges. However, sometimes their hinds don't cooperate. Therefore, they end up getting a butt lift. Brazilian butt lift or BBL in Dubai has become a popular cosmetic procedure in recent years. The procedure has its perks but before we get to enjoy them we need to consider the recovery time.

Below we have shared some tips regarding a quick recovery from Brazilian butt lift. But before that, let’s understand what a Brazilian butt lift is.

Brazilian Butt Lift

A Brazilian butt lift (BBL) is a cosmetic procedure used to improve the size, shape, and contour or the buttocks.

This type of butt lift does not use implants instead the patient’s own body fat is used.

During the procedure, the surgeon removes unwanted fat from different body parts through liposuction. Normally, excess fat is removed from:

  • stomach

  • abdomen

  • hips

  • back

  • thighs

The extracted fat is then injected into the target areas on the butt. As a result, the size and perkiness of the backside are improved.

Tips to Recover after a Brazilian Butt Lift

As this procedure uses liposuction, the recovery time becomes extensive. The surgeon normally provides a guidelines manual for the recovery period. However, the following tips are also quite helpful to recover quickly after a butt lift:

  • Pain Management

After the Brazilian butt lift, a moderate level of pain and discomfort is normal. Since the process involves liposuction; this discomfort can last for a few days. The patient should expect bruising and swelling in the entire area, as well.

The level of pain and discomfort depends on the surgeon’s expertise and the technique used. It also depends on the patient’s level of tolerance. Most people are able to move around within 2-3 days after the procedure.

Usually, the pain subsides on its own. However, some OTC or prescribed medicines can also be used to manage the pain. If the pain still persists, consult your surgeon for further guidance.

  • Medication

After a butt lift, the surgeon or clinic will provide certain painkillers or other medicines. Usually, these are narcotic pain medicines that induce sleep or dizziness. These are fine for the first few days, as they will help minimize the patient’s movement. However, it is recommended to switch to non-narcotic medicines after the initial days.

By taking narcotic pain meds for a long time, the patient may get constipation which makes recovery worse. Moreover, driving is impossible under the influence of narcotic medicines.

  • Clothing

A cosmetic surgeon usually suggests wearing a special compression garment after a butt lift. It is worn around the areas where liposuction is performed for about 8 weeks.

This special garment helps in the healing process. It is also beneficial for reducing swelling and discomfort.

  • Posture

To heal properly and quickly after a Brazilian butt lift, keeping the posture correct is very important. Every human being sits on their butt and usually sleeps on it, too. However, after a butt lift, a patient is required to not sit directly on their butt.

This can be hard given the fact that our butt is an important part of our sitting and sleeping routine. However, at least for 8 weeks, the patients cannot sit or sleep on their butt. They should sleep on either their stomachs or sides. They will be required to stand or lie down on their sides or stomach most of the time. Otherwise, the healing process will be affected as pressure on the treated area can limit blood circulation.

Some clinics also provide a special cushion/pillow that helps them sit properly. It is designed in such a way that it helps the blood flow even if pressure is applied.

  • Exercise

During the recovery period, there no highly physical activities should be performed. This includes intense and exhaustive exercise, as well. Some surgeons suggest avoiding any physical activity unless they are given a green signal by the surgeons.

After 2-3 weeks of a butt lift, patients can get back to light and normal exercise, like fast walks. Usually, after 6 weeks, a patient is able to perform more strenuous exercises, like running and cycling.

Conclusion

A Brazilian butt lift is a popular cosmetic procedure that helps us get in shape. It is important to adhere to the doctor’s instructions post-surgery for a quick recovery. Otherwise, the recovery period will become prolonged and extensive. Moreover, there are higher chances of complications. Therefore, it is better to be safe than sorry.
